WSU-LQT BBUS launches first cohort
On September 14, 2023, the WSU-LQT BBUS program welcomed its first cohort of 42 new students.
The WSU-LQT BBUS is a special undergraduate training program for young entrepreneurs, organized by the LQT Institute in collaboration with Western Sydney University.
Aimed at cultivating outstanding entrepreneurs for the new era, the WSU-LQT BBUS program combines the rigorous academic framework of Western Sydney University with modern business thinking courses from the LQT Institute.
Aspirations to train the next generation of entrepreneurs

“From my own business experiences, both successes and failures, I wish I could pass on my knowledge to the younger generation of entrepreneurs sooner. The best time for this is when you are still in university, when you are unafraid of difficulties and challenges to refine yourselves”, Dr. Ly Qui Trung expressed his desire to train a new generation of young entrepreneurs in Vietnam at the beginning of the event.
Dr. Ly Qui Trung, a prominent entrepreneur known for the Pho 24 brand and his contributions to the youth, is also the founder of this special program. He believes that a successful entrepreneur’s achievements stem not only from formal education but also from many lessons that cannot be found in textbooks.
Thus, a recurring question in the mind of the program’s founder, Dr. Ly Qui Trung, is how to systematically pass on the knowledge and experiences of successful entrepreneurs to future generations, ensuring depth and early exposure. This is the reason for the establishment of the WSU-LQT BBUS program.
“The WSU-LQT BBUS will not focus heavily on technical skills, but rather on mindset, worldview, attitude, style, character, adaptability, and resilience to overcome challenges. These are the essential qualities of a successful entrepreneur,” he shared.
Training program emphasizes practical business skills
In addition to the 24 traditional courses from Western Sydney University, students will also engage in 6 practical and soft skills courses from the LQT Institute, along with 2 business projects and a 3-month internship in Australia. Throughout the 3-year university journey, students will have the opportunity to interact and learn from young entrepreneurs, seasoned business leaders, and top experts in Vietnam through monthly talk shows and experience-sharing sessions.
During the opening ceremony welcoming the first cohort of new students, Dr. Ly Qui Trung presented participation certificates to the students, marking the beginning of their journey to becoming young entrepreneurs with aspirations, voices, and the courage to take action.

According to Dr. Ly Qui Trung, since this is a special training program, it requires exceptional students. One key factor is that students must possess “entrepreneurial qualities”. This is why young candidates must pass 3 stringent assessments before being admitted to the WSU-LQT BBUS program. Additionally, the program demands strong motivation, passion, and significant effort to successfully complete the journey.
