LQT Talk #9: Building Entrepreneurial Endurance
On the morning of May 24th, students from the LQT Bachelor of Business program attended the LQT Talk #09 seminar at STEEL Fitness & Health, where they listened to the CEO share about STEEL’s business model as well as the importance of maintaining good health.

Sharing about the health aspect for entrepreneurs, the representative from STEEL believes that optimizing physical exercise (taking up an ideal amount of about 5% of everyone’s total 24/7 time) will have a positive impact on the quality of the remaining 95% of their time.
The Importance of Health for Entrepreneurs
Physical strength and fitness are often overlooked but are crucial aspects for entrepreneurs. Here’s why they matter:
Energy and Endurance: The entrepreneurial spirit requires a lot of time and persistent effort. Physical strength helps boost energy levels and endurance, enabling entrepreneurs to work long hours with high spirits.
Stress Management: Exercise is a well-known stress reliever. Regular physical activity helps control stress by releasing endorphins, which naturally enhance mood. This factor is especially important for entrepreneurs who often face high-pressure situations.
Mental Clarity and Focus: Regular exercise improves mental sharpness and cognitive function. Physical strength and fitness can enhance the ability to think clearly, make better decisions, and maintain focus on complex entrepreneurial tasks.
Confidence and Resilience: Good physical fitness leads to increased confidence. With this confidence, entrepreneurs can present ideas, negotiate deals, and lead teams effectively. Physical resilience also helps them recover mentally more quickly.
Improved Sleep: Consistent physical activity contributes to better sleep quality. Adequate rest is essential for cognitive function, mood regulation, and overall productivity — all vital for entrepreneurial success.
Prevention of Health Issues: Entrepreneurs often neglect their health due to busy schedules. Maintaining fitness through regular exercise can prevent common health problems such as obesity, cardiovascular disease, and diabetes, ensuring they remain active and healthy.
Networking Opportunities: Participating in physical activities, such as sports classes or fitness groups, can provide networking opportunities. Entrepreneurs may meet potential clients, partners, or investors in these environments, helping their business grow.
Work-Life Balance: Committing to physical fitness encourages a healthier work-life balance. It ensures entrepreneurs allocate time for personal well-being amid their busy work schedules.

LQT students then participated in practicing several representative exercises from three groups: strength, endurance, and flexibility, alongside a team of personal trainers. Training directly with the coaches, students learned about the purpose of each exercise and its impact on muscle groups, receiving enthusiastic support in adjusting their posture.
Through this LQT Talk event, WSU-LQT students gained a deeper perspective on the importance of health in connection with the mindset and work capacity of an entrepreneur.
