LQT DAY 2024 – DISCOVER 6 FASHION STYLES FOR ENTREPRENEURS
On November 17, 2024, the LQT Bachelor of Business program organized the LQT Day event, attracting the participation of many parents, students and students of the WSU-LQT BBUS program.
Shaping the business style from clothing
Fashion is an important part of non-verbal communication, especially for business people – those who need to build a professional image. A suitable outfit not only helps business people express their personal style but also brings confidence to score points in negotiations and build trust with partners.
On the journey to equip students with essential skills to become leaders, the LQT Bachelor of Business program has designed the subject “Soft Skills for Entrepreneurs”, in which the workshop “Personal Appearance and Business Attire” is a special activity in this subject. Combined with this special class, at the LQT Day 2024 event, students will learn about dress code rules, practice coordinating outfits for professional work settings and fashion shows.

6 fashion styles every businessman needs to know
In the theoretical part, students are given detailed instructions on 6 popular dress codes suitable for different occasions.
1. Business:
Business style is often applied in the office environment with requirements for politeness and professionalism.
- Business Formal: Men wear dark suits with ties and white or neutral-colored shirts. Women often choose blazers with pencil skirts or trousers.
- Business Smart: This is a more flexible version of Business Formal, providing comfort but still maintaining professionalism for the wearer. This style includes shirts combined with trousers or midi skirts. Although it does not require a tie, Business Smart still ensures professionalism and is suitable for work settings such as daily meetings or client meetings.
- Business Casual: This is a style of clothing that combines comfort and formality, suitable for working environments that are not too strict about dress codes. Men can choose a shirt or polo with chinos, loafers or oxford shoes, while women can wear a blouse or shirt with a midi skirt or trousers, combined with flats or high heels.

2. Formal
Formal dress is the standard choice for formal events such as awards ceremonies, dinners or diplomatic meetings. This style shows the highest level of sophistication and professionalism, helping businessmen make a strong impression on special occasions.
- White Tie: Men wear a tailcoat, white shirt, white bow tie and shiny black leather shoes. Women choose a long evening dress, combined with gloves and accessories such as high-end jewelry.
- Black Tie: Although less formal than White Tie, Black Tie still brings elegance and class. Men wear a tuxedo with a black bow tie, while women can choose a long evening dress or a luxurious cocktail dress.
3. Semi-Formal
Semi-Formal style is considered the ideal choice for moderately formal events such as dinner parties, weddings or opening events. Semi-Formal is a style that shows the harmony between formality and comfort, giving the wearer confidence and professionalism in many different contexts.
- Black Tie Optional: Men can wear a tuxedo or dark vest, while women should choose a long dress or cocktail dress to create an elegant and luxurious look.
- Cocktail Attire: Men often wear a dark vest or blazer. Meanwhile, women can choose a cocktail dress or short dress and combine it with high heels to complete the overall outfit.

4. Casual
Casual style represents comfort and flexibility, suitable for everyday activities such as meeting friends, going out and outdoor parties.
- Smart Casual: Men should choose shirts or polo shirts combined with chinos or khakis, while women can wear skirts or jeans with blouses. Accessories such as loafers or flats are the highlight to help the wearer complete the style.
- Casual: This is the freest style, bringing a comfortable and dynamic feeling to the wearer. The outfit usually includes a T-shirt, jeans, sneakers or flats. To increase the aesthetics, the wearer can add accessories such as hats, watches or tote bags.

5. Creative
Creative Style is often chosen for events that require uniqueness, especially popular in the arts, media or creative parties.
- Business Creative: Is a combination of office wear and creative elements such as bold colors, unique patterns or unconventional accessories.

6. Themed/Seasonal
Themed Style is often applied to seasonal or themed events, requiring the wearer to wear outfits that match the context and meaning of the event.
- Festive: This style stands out with outfits with cheerful colors and patterns, suitable for year-end parties, festivals or important anniversaries.
- Beach Attire: This is an ideal choice for outdoor events near the beach, with light, airy outfits such as linen shirts, shorts or maxi dresses. Accessories are also kept minimal such as sandals, flat shoes or slippers.
“Fashion Show” LQT Day 2024
After the theoretical part, students were divided into groups and participated in the outfit matching challenge with different topics. The activity focused on practicing outfit matching, creating conditions for students to practice teamwork skills, creative thinking and presentation skills. Through the workshop, students had the opportunity to experience “trendy outfits”, turning the classroom into a professional “catwalk” to practice confidence and affirm the personal style of a modern businessman.

The success of the event marked the full companionship of prestigious fashion brands:
Routine, ManGii, Walenty, Dalidolie and Suits by Chan. The presence of the brands brought diverse outfit options and inspired students in building a professional personal style.
Ms. Thien Sang, CEO – Founder of Walenty brand, shared interesting things about WSU-LQT BBUS students: “I am very impressed with the dynamic spirit, enthusiasm and freshness of the students. They not only grasp information quickly but also remember and apply knowledge effectively. Above all, what impressed me the most was their spectacular ‘transformation’ after changing their costumes, when their confidence and professional demeanor were not only shown through their costumes but also clearly in their presentation and communication.”
