Dr. Ly Qui Trung shares his “unique business tricks” at the book launch “Different to succeed”

“Different to Succeed – Unique Business Strategies of Vietnamese Enterprises” is the 10th book by Dr. Ly Qui Trung. The book is divided into 5 main topics: Human Resource Management, Excellent Customer Experience, Marketing, Business Strategy and Business Thinking and Perspectives. In which, 60 business stories are told by him in a vivid and engaging way. These stories were accumulated by Dr. Ly Qui Trung from his personal experiences, what he has read, observed and researched over many years.

Dr. Ly Qui Trung shared: “This is a book that I have put a lot of effort into, because I have to meet and interview many businesses and entrepreneurs in Vietnam. The opportunity to come to “Different to succeed”

During the launch, Dr. Ly Qui Trung and readers reviewed the opportunity that made him decide to write the book “Different to be successful”. It originated from a unique human resource management story of his mother, businesswoman Nguyen Thi Quynh Nga. By chance, he met the restaurant chef, who used to be his mother’s kitchen assistant at Thanh Nien restaurant. One day, the owner called the kitchen assistant to the office to praise her and let her choose one of the jewelry as an encouragement gift. Surprised and touched, the kitchen assistant chose a necklace and has kept this keepsake until now.

At that time, Dr. Ly Qui Trung had just returned from a long time studying abroad in Australia, he felt uncomfortable with his mother’s way of rewarding individuals. He believed that rewards should be clear, transparent and have specific standards to ensure fairness among employees. However, he later realized that his mother’s method was extremely effective. The gift, although not expensive, when accompanied by sincere concern, created a deep connection between the employer and the employee. It was this touching story that inspired him to write this book.

Dr. Ly Qui Trung shared at the launch that “unique tricks” do not mean unique and no one has done them. The “unique tricks” he is referring to in the book are business methods that go beyond common sense and have more benefits than harms.
